Vera Playa

Located in the driest area of Europe and Spain with long sunshine hours throughout the year, our Spanish naturist holiday home provides the perfect accommodation for nude relaxation all the year round.

The beautiful naturist beach is only a leisurely six minute walk away.

The naturist resort of Vera Playa

Imagine a holiday in a naturist heaven where it is not only the accommodation, gardens, pools and beach that allow you to go nude 24/7 but where you can walk naked through the streets and use bars and cafes too. This is the naturist holiday resort of Vera Playa. It has over 2000 properties, all privately owned by naturists like ourselves. It also has a fully naturist hotel and at least ten bars and restaurants. This makes the entire naturist holiday zone the size of a substantial village, bigger by far than any other naturist resort in the world with the possible exception of Cap d’Age in France. But unlike Cap d’Age the wonderful climate in Vera Playa means you can enjoy a naturist holiday the whole year round.

Unlike the “clothing optional” resorts of the Carribbean, Vera Playa is not closed off, controlled or operated like a club. It is simply a relaxed community where Spanish law allows people to be naked in public and where everyone is comfortable with being unclothed. In Spanish, this huge area for naturist holiday leisure is referred to as the “Zona Nudista” (naturist zone).

Getting There Vera Playa is served by three airports that are all less than two and a half hours drive away from the naturist resort.

Almeria Airport - the start of your naturist holiday

The nearest airport is Almeria which is only thirty minutes away. Its proximity obviously makes it the best choice but flights to it from the UK tend to be more expensive than flights to the other two airports and are limited to ones from Gatwick, Stansted and Dublin Airports.

Covera (Murcia)

The next nearest airport is the Murcia airport of Covera. (You may also find Murcia listed as San Javier airport but this closed in 2018 and Covera takes over all of San Javier’s from 2019. Covera is just under two hours drive away from Vera Playa and receives flights from several airports and a variety of operators.

In 2019 these will be:

  • EasyJet – Gatwick, Southend, Bristol
  • Ryanair – Stansted, Luton, Manchester, East Midlands, Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Dublin
  • Jet2 – Leeds Bradford, Manchester
  • Ryanair – Glasgow Prestwick, Bournemouth
  • Norwegian Air – Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim
  • Tui – Antwerp, Charleroi
    Volotea – Asturias
Many of our naturist holiday guests fly to Alicante Airport

The third airport is Alicante. Whilst this is two and half hours drive away from the naturist holiday resort, it offers the widest choice of flights, many of which are cheaper than those arriving at other airports. Most flight operators and European airports have regular flights to Alicante.

Getting from the airports to the naturist holiday resort All three airports have hire car pick up points.

It’s best to arrange your car hire before you come. The internet provides plenty of sites such as for car hiring in Spain. Be careful to use a reputable company and familiarise yourself with the scams to look out for .

Arrange car shuttle service

We can usually arrange for someone to pick you up from any of the airports listed above. They will also take you back to the airport of the day of your departure. Very often, the driver will be the same person who would normally meet and greet you, so your journey will provide you with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and find out more about the resort, accommodation and other matters relevant to your stay. If you require this service, please let us know as early as possible to ensure it will be available. Fees vary according to which airport is used and the current fuel prices etc. However, they are always very reasonable and not affected by season, flight times or extra luggage items. The fee is paid to the driver on arrival at the accommodation.

If you prefer not to use our services, other car shuttles can also be arranged with specialist companies you can find and book with via the Internet. These are likely to charge considerably more than our drivers and usually charge extra for things like unsocial flight times, summer season and bulky luggage items.

Public Transport

Although a superfast rail link from Almeria, Alicante and Murcia to Vera has been promised for more than a decade, it is still not operational. 2023 is now officially quoted as the year it opens.

Until then, public transport from the airports is limited to buses. Whilst this can seem to many as a time consuming and inconvenient way to travel, it is very cheap and we do get visitors to Vera Playa who enjoy using it as their means of transfer from the airports.

Almeria Buses go from the city bus station. As there is only one airport bus per day, the bus station is best reached by taking a taxi ride from the airport. This cost 4.60€ in 2018.

Covera airport has a 25 kilometre bus service to the city of Murcia and from there you can get a bus to Vera.

Alicante. Buses go from the city bus station which is linked by a short bus or taxi ride from the airport

Please note that all the above routes go to Vera bus station. To get from Vera bus station to the naturist holiday resort of Vera Playa will require a taxi or a local bus which takes twenty minutes and costs around 1€
